Its Friday, which means we have another weekend of sport to look forward to.
  1. Cycling – The GIRO starts tonight, with three stages in Ireland before returning to Italy. The first stage is a team time trial, with the Australian Orica-GreenEdge outfit favoured to take the win. Check back in over the weekend for a preview of the full three weeks ahead.
  2. Formula 1 – Spanish Grand Prix – The first European race of the season takes place in Barcelona. Can anyone challenge Hamilton and Rosberg? Probably not.
  3. Athletics – The first event of the IAAF Diamond League takes place in Doha, Qatar. Given it is the first event on the Calendar not all the biggest names in track and field will be present but there should still be plenty of action worth catching.

Also note that it is the final round of the EPL. After Liverpool threw away a three goal lead against Crystal Palace mid-week Manchester City need only a draw against West Ham to wrap up the title. It has been a season of twists and turns but for the first time in a number of seasons the bottom three has been finalised before the final round, with Norwich joining Cardiff and Fulham in being relegated. The final European spot could change, but Tottenham only need a draw to condemn Manchester United to a season without European football.
